Child Safety Standards
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Rysa is a social platform for learners and scholars of Sanskrit. We take the safety of children and young people on our platform seriously. This page describes the standards we apply to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how users can report concerns, and how we respond.
This page is published in compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and applicable laws. It applies to all Rysa users worldwide.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Rysa has a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or conduct that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, videos, written descriptions, drawings, animations, or AI-generated content.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation, or sexualized communication directed at minors.
- Sharing, requesting, or trading CSAM.
- Content that sexualizes minors or depicts them in a sexual context, including fictional or computer-generated depictions.
- Content that promotes, normalizes, or glorifies the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.
- Sextortion, coercion, or threats involving minors.
- Impersonating a minor to engage with other users, or attempting to make contact with a minor for abusive purposes.
Any user who engages in the above behavior will have their account permanently terminated, their content removed, and — where applicable — their activity reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate law enforcement authorities.
Age Policy
Rysa is rated for users aged 13 and above. Users under 13 are not permitted to create an account or use the service. If we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will terminate the account and delete associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable children's privacy laws (including COPPA and GDPR-K).
We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their children's online activity and to contact us if they believe a child under 13 is using Rysa.
How We Prevent CSAE
We apply the following controls to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation on Rysa:
- Clear community standards. Our Terms of Service and community guidelines prohibit CSAE, and all users agree to them at signup.
- In-app reporting. Every post in Rysa includes a report option with a dedicated category for child sexual abuse material or child endangerment. Reports are triaged as high priority.
- User blocking and muting. Users can block any other user at any time. Blocks are bidirectional — a blocked user cannot see or contact the blocker. This is available from any user's profile and from Settings → Privacy & Safety.
- Manual review. Our team reviews every report filed through the in-app reporting system and through our safety contact address. Reports relating to CSAM or child endangerment are prioritized for immediate review.
- Account termination. Accounts that violate our child safety policy are terminated without warning. We preserve evidence as required by law before deletion.
- Law enforcement cooperation. We report apparent CSAM to NCMEC's CyberTipline as required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) and cooperate with valid legal process from law enforcement agencies worldwide.
We continue to evaluate and improve our safety controls as the platform grows.
How to Report
If you see content on Rysa that violates our child safety policy, please report it immediately using one of the channels below:
In the app
- Open the post you want to report.
- Tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top-right of the post.
- Tap "Report Post".
- Select the reason — for child safety concerns, choose "Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child endangerment".
- Optionally add details, then tap "Submit report".
By email
Email support@rysa.tech with the subject line "CHILD SAFETY REPORT". Include:
- A link to the content or account (if applicable).
- A description of the concern.
- Any other context that would help us investigate.
Report directly to authorities
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
You may also report CSAM directly to the relevant authority in your country:
- United States: NCMEC CyberTipline (or call 1-800-843-5678).
- United Kingdom: Internet Watch Foundation.
- Other countries: INHOPE member hotlines.
What Happens After You Report
- Acknowledgement. You'll see a confirmation message in the app after submitting an in-app report. Email reports receive an acknowledgement within one business day.
- Review. Our team reviews every child safety report. CSAM and child endangerment reports are reviewed within 24 hours of submission; other reports within 72 hours.
- Action. If content violates our policy, we remove it and take action against the posting account — which may include warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination.
- Reporting to authorities. Apparent CSAM is reported to NCMEC's CyberTipline and, where appropriate, to law enforcement in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Confidentiality. We do not disclose the identity of the person who filed a report to the reported user.
- False reports. Repeated knowingly false reports may themselves violate our Terms of Service.
Safety Tools Available to All Users
- Block. From any user's profile, tap the menu icon and select "Block". Blocks are immediate and bidirectional.
- Manage blocked users. Settings → Privacy & Safety → Blocked users lists everyone you've blocked and lets you unblock if desired.
- Report post. From any post's menu, tap "Report Post" and select a reason.
- Delete your content. You can delete any of your own posts at any time.
- Delete your account. Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account removes your account and associated data.
